An N.Y.U Study Gone Wrong, and a Top Researcher Dismissed

The participation of human subjects in scientific research is essential in order for medicine to advance. However, when we fail to respect the dignity of those who participate in this type of research, we jeopardize more than just the progress of medical science; we threaten developments in human rights that have helped shape the evolution of humanistic medical practice. How can we emphasize the absolute necessity of placing the rights of the individual ahead of the promise of scientific progress?
